The Green Tiger Barb is one of the two varieties of the Tiger Barb with other being the Albino Tiger Barb. The Green Tiger Barb which has an average lifespan of 3 to 5 years has its origin from Indonesia with its habitat in Sumatra and Borneo. This fish has been described by experts to be mildly or semi-aggressive, they thrive best when they are kept in a school of no less than 6 fishes, it was observed that having only a few of them tends to bring out the aggressive side of them. If you are interested in breeding the Green Tiger Barb, you would need a minimum tank size of 20 gallons, as they tend to need more space as they grow.
