Harlequin Rasbora 3cm
The Harlequin Rasbora (scientifically called Trigonostigma heteromorpha) is a congenial, small sized and beautiful fish that is found naturally in the rivers and streams of the Malay Archipelago, Sumantra and some parts of Thailand. The Harlequin Rasbora has on each side of its body a triangular shaped mark of velvet and violet that runs from its mid-section to the end of its body. The adult Harlequin Rasbora can grow quite impressively; some H. rasboras have been pegged at 5 cm having a tail stem. If you are serious about hosting the Harlequin Rasbora in your tank as the main attraction, then you should be ready to enrich your tank with a school having a minimum of ten different species, observations have revealed that the H. Rasbora show their better sides this way. You should also watch out for the volume of fluid in your tank, the minimum requirement per fish is 5 liters for Harlequin Rasboras. Ensure that your tank medium is kept at a moderate temperature within the range of 24–27 °C, it should also have a pH level, not below 6.5 and not more than 7.5.
The Harlequin Rasbora will heartily accept any fish as a tank mate due to its peaceful and friendly nature, the Cardinal tetra, neon tetra, and opaline gourami are a few classic choices.
