Melon Barb 3.5cm
Melon Barb (Haludaria fasciata) is a fish from the Cypriniformes order and Cyprinidae family. It is mostly found in South India states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Goa and Kerala, and also as far as the northern state of Maharashtra. They are seen in streams, ponds, canals, lakes, as well as ditches. This shows they love shallow and quiet areas. They are just the best for upcoming and expert lovers of the aquarium.
They do fine in a tank that is at least 48 inches long. The Melon Barbs are more comfortable when they are in a group of at least 6 of their kind. The aquarium should have a decent flow rate of water and oxygenation since they are more comfortable in moderate fast flowing water. These species is not aggressive in nature, but they should be kept away from tiny fish or fry.
They can be fed with a variety of foods which include flakes, frozen and live foods such as mosquito larvae, brine shrimp, Mysis shrimp among others. What's more? They can feed well on soft-leaved plants.
