opaline Gourami 5cm
The Opaline Gourami, also known as the Gourami Trichopodus trichopterus scientifically, is a member of the Anabantoidei suborder that is known generically as the Labyrinth fish. The Opaline Gourami is quite attractive, being a color morph of the Three Spot Gourami Trichopodus trichopterus, its little wonder. This fish, like most of the other members of its suborder, was artificially bred from the Gourami Trichogaster trichopterus after it was successfully brought to the US in the 19th century. Its parent fish – the Blue Opaline Gourami thrives in the deep rivers of Asia, Sumatra, Indonesia, and Thailand. The Opaline Gourami can grow up to 15cm which is agreeably quite large in its own right; it has an elongated body that is sponsored by its flattened sides, and its large rounded fins. It has the capacity to ingest atmospheric air and thrive by it in less than ideal conditions, making it interestingly resilient yet vulnerable too. Keep the tank medium temperature medium for your Opaline Gourami, the range of 24–27 °C would be just fine. A tank pH range of 6 – 7 and a minimum tank size of 10 gallons are required.
You may feed your Opaline Gourami with all types of fish feed since it’s omnivorously inclined in the diet. However, you may as well use flakes or granules as its basic diet option.
