Penguin Tetra 2.5-3CM
The Penguin Tetra which may also be known as Thayeria boehlkei originates from the upper Amazon River Basin; it is known to feed mostly on small worms, crustaceans, and insects that are found in the small streams where it resides. For proper rearing, they need to be kept in a small school of no less than 5 fishes with tank mates that are similar sized. The adult Penguin Tetra can grow up to 1.2 inches (3 cm), which is no bad for a Tetra. Speaking in terms of their diet, you are at liberty to use good pellet food such as Hikari or New Life Spectrum to make up the main portion of their diet. The 1mm sized pellets are perfect for Penguin Tetras when they are matured to their adult size. You may also engage crushed flake foods for Penguin Tetras that are of smaller size.
