The Bristlenose Peppermint is a catfish, more specifically – Ancistrus Catfish of South American origin, that has been described to be very attractive and eye catchy, it spots a black cover with starry white dots about its body. Bristlenose Peppermint is both herbivorous and omnivorous, they enjoy feasting on algae and other sinking type food, this their dietary system has made them totally easy to feed without stress. The Juveniles of this species carry more obvious body markings than their adults; this helps managers to know when they are mature. Bristlenose Peppermint is best kept in soft acidic water conditions; their preferred pH range is 6.5 – 7.5, this species also thrives well in warm water, one with a temperature range of 28 – 30 C.  The nomenclature of the Bristlenose Peppermint comes from their appearance, how they have a black body but with white dots.
